C3P0 BackpackC3P0 BackpackNow the question is, what shoes should you wear with this?

Get yours at ThinkGeek (is there really anywhere else?)

I don’t want flowers, I don’t want gardening supplies. I want this stuff.

From top left, going clockwise: Hello Schröddy t-shirt, Marshmallow Blaster, Limited Edition Starbuck Frakker, Desktop Easter Island, Mini Plush Microbes and an Aromatherapy USB Aromatherapy Oil Burner.

You can find all of it at ThinkGeek.

Think DH will take my oh so subtle hint?

Mouth Man Raptor HoodieI know what I’m getting Goober for his birthday! I can just see him running through the house yelling: “Nom! Nom! Nom! ROAR!”

The concept was developed by Ross Valory (of Journey! How cool is that?) and you can order your very own from the Mouth Man website. They even have adult sizes.

Keyboard clutchJust the thing for casual dinners out when I don’t have to carry all my usual crap around with me. But, if we start using keyboards as fashion accessories, what will be left for me to take out my frustration on.

You can buy it here.

Wil Wheaton is awesomeHe goes on, and on, and on, and on and….

Here’s the story behind the shirt:

Original photo by Paul. Who gave Wil the shirt as a fun gift. Now, it’s a fun GIF!

About 45 days later, I finally picked it up. I opened it in my office, saw myself looking back at me from infinity, and couldn’t believe that I’d waited so long to pick it up. (On the other hand, it was a wonderful reward for completing the first draft of my keynote.)

I called Anne into my office, and revealed it in the usual manner, by slowly lifting it up to my chin and showing it off.

“Oh my god,” Anne said. “It’s you … and you … and you … and you …”

“All the way to infinity,” I said.

We shared a Sci-Five, to commemorate the occasion. You know, like you do.

The Recursive Wheaton (also known as the Wheaton Singularity) is an Infini-tee, created by Scott Meyer, who also creates an amazing and wonderful webcomic called Basic Instructions.

Wil rocks! I can’t wait to see what Felicia Day cooks up for him in the next season of The Guild.

Texting UnderpantsI’m not sure RIM saw this coming when they created the BlackBerry….

But there is now such a thing as texting underpants. Don’t scoff; anyone who’s ever had a loved one in a care facility will tell you that taking of patients personal needs in a timely manner is incredibly difficult for staff.  Accidents happen, and if left unattended, it can lead to more problems down the road.

Basically what these units do is let staff members know when a patient needs to change by using wireless technology to send them a text alert.

Created by a company called Simavita and are being rolled out in geriatric care homes across Australia

I think this is a cool idea, but I have to wonder what’s next.  GPS socks?

Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories (I’m not making this up, I swear!) have posted the pattern to a beautiful cross-stitch scarf bearing SETI’s Arecibo message that the organization beamed into space on November 16th, 1974.

Arecibo message

The message contains:

  1. The numbers one (1) through ten (10)
  2. The atomic numbers of the elements hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and phosphorus, which make up deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
  3. The formulas for the sugars and bases in the nucleotides of DNA
  4. The number of nucleotides in DNA, and a graphic of the double helix structure of DNA
  5. A graphic figure of a human, the dimension (physical height) of an average man, and the human population of Earth
  6. A graphic of the Solar System
  7. A graphic of the Arecibo radio telescope and the dimension (the physical diameter) of the transmitting antenna dish

It’s lovely!  The design would also make a great shirt or minister’s stole (if you go to a church like mine).  Hopefully some enterprising soul will convert it to a knitting pattern.

Get all the patern details at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories.

PS.  If you make this scarf, be sure to send me a picture.  I’ll be happy to add it to the (upcoming) photo gallery.

I found out what happened to DH’s Star Wars curtains!  Check it out:

But I think this one is my favorite:
A New Hope... for fashion? Nightmare Before Christmas...shopping?

Check out the rest of the dresses at The Vintage Doctor and let me know which one I should buy!  😉
